A few updates.

Sorry for the lapse in news postings. A few things to update you on:

According to Puscifers Myspace page, the first two shows in Vegas have both sold out and a new date was added for the 15th of February. Hope some of you will be attending one of these shows as im sure it will be a blast!

TOOL frontman Maynard James Keenan told The Pulse of Radio last week that he and guitarist Billy Howerdel have been working on some fresh material for A PERFECT CIRCLE, the group they formed in 2000 while Keenan had time off from TOOL, but which has been inactive since 2004. However, Keenan revealed that the band might just post a couple of new songs online instead of doing an entire album. "I doubt if we'll do any touring or, you know, do a full album," he said. "We might do some one-off shows here and there if the timing's right and it seems like a good vibe and a smart thing to do. But most likely we'll just kind of concentrate on, you know, one or two songs at a time, rather than investing all the time and money and effort into making those plastic discs that no one cares about anymore."

TOOL has been on vacation since early 2008, although Keenan said that he expects the band to begin writing a new album sometime next year.

It also seems as though Maynard will play a part in the soundtrack also
The Flaming Lips’ Steven Drozd created an original score for the film as well as covering Elton John’s “Rocket Man” with vocals from the aforementioned Keenan.

Also, thanks to Foutheye for keeping Tool fans uptodate with news, i hope many of you check over there as we can be a little lax with our postings but we're working on it.

Paste Interview

News submitter, Tony, sent us in a link to a short Paste Mag interview, recap of, with maynard on his winemaking:

Behind the tasting bar of Mission Wines, a South Pasadena wine shop with hardwood floors, Maynard James Keenan is slurping his wine. No really, it’s his wine. The reclusive frontman for prog-metal bands Tool and A Perfect Circle is drinking Tazi, a light blend of sauvignon blanc, chardonnay and other grapes from his own Arizona Stronghold Vineyards. The scene is slightly surreal, given that this is the guy who wrote and sang songs called “Prison Sex” and “Hooker with a Penis.”

Puscifer in the Live!

According to a recent puscifer mailing list update:


Bust out your best mint green polyester suit and white patent leather shoes! Puscifer makes its live debut this February 13 & 14 at The Pearl in The Palms Casino. VEGAS, BABY!!! YEAH!!! With a cast of characters that include both musicians and comedians, I see the shows as a new take on what an evening of entertainment can be. I will share more details with you over the next couple of months but with rumors already circulating about what I was planning I wanted to make sure that the newsletter subscribers were the first to know. Many Many Many details to follow. C'mon 7's and 11's!
