Videos of Puscifer's live shows find their way to YouTube

Over at Echoing the Sound, folks have been compiling photos and YouTube clips from the live debut of Puscifer. Highlights from the show include a new track, "Polar Bear," comedy skits, Milla Jovovich joining the band for "The Mission," and Maynard occasionally playing mandolin.

For more details and first-hand accounts, check out the Puscifer thread on ETS. I'll close this post with a photo I'm stealing from Jennabunnie, who knows I'm good for it:

January Newsletter

Maybe calling it a "news" letter is a stretch, but Blair posted the Tool Newsletter for January over on the official site. You can skip reading this one if you're not a fan of Blair's style. All it seems to discuss are some centipedes showing up in people's Vicarious DVD cases, and some kind of strange 'vision'. If anyone has a codex or Rosetta Stone to translate from Blair to English, I'd be happy to hear from you.

Other than the newsletter, there doesn't seem to be much going on in the Tool world. Maynard is keeping busy with the first live Puscifer shows (all 3 of them) and wine signings for his Merkin Vineyards, and there's a picture of Danny at the NBA All-Star game at the official site.

MJK on Hows Your News

Gutner tells us MJK was interviewed at the Grammys on the premiere of MTV's Hows Your News. Apparently the interviewer thought he was the "producer" of Tool. Heh. Heh heh. Heheheheh. Any clips would be greatly appreciated. Aaand here's a clip from Jose: Vimeo.

Phoenix Magazine talks Puscifer with MJK

Matt sent in a link to a new interview with Maynard from the February issue of Phoenix Magazine.

While the article doesn't talk about Tool, Maynard does discuss Puscifer and his wine making endeavors, as well as how his current projects are different from his past work. Nothing very new or terribly exciting, but it's an interesting read.

Alex Grey's CoSM

I'm sure this has been around for a while (as I rarely make it over to Alex Grey's site - I dunno, I just get irritated by the frames), but it seems Alex Grey has acquired a 40 acre retreat center which is to be the foundation for his Chapel of Sacred Mirrors. The plans for it so far look pretty stellar, and (so that there is some Tool-related point to this) it seems the inclusion of a Tool shrine is still in the plans. To my understanding, anyone who donates $10 or more to the construction of CoSM may have their name inscribed as one of 10,000 on the shrine to Grey's collaborations with Tool. So far the list of contributors is reasonably populated (I'm not friggin' counting), so if you want to be a part of Tool/Alex Grey history I'd suggest going for it. I know I plan on it. For more details on the CoSM, check out Grey's website.

Puscifer seats, lineup addition

Yesterday Maynard posted on Puscifer.com that there are new, very nice seats available for all three nights of the upcoming Puscifer shows. They seem more expensive than the others have been, but that's to be expected. I could just be ignorant of the way Ticketmaster displays premium tickets, but from what I see there are only two of these new tickets left for each night! Get 'em for the first night, the second, and the third.

MJK also mentioned that he would be including Uncle Scratch's Gospel Revival in the shows. Never heard of them, personally, but from a quick glance through their Myspace they seem reasonably amusing.

Update MJK on Harddrive, TTH Submission Up Again

First off, AZB let me know that he did catch the interview with Maynard on Hard Drive I mentioned last night, but it seemed more like a "20-second voicemail" than an interview - which isn't too terribly surprising, granted. He didn't particularly touch on anything new, focusing on what he wanted to accomplish with the Puscifer shows as opposed to a traditional concert environment.

Secondly, happy to say that it seems our submission form is working again, and it's pretty convenient, if I do say so myself. Hope I'm not mentioning this prematurely, but it does seem to be fully functional. Submit away, fellas, it's all appreciated. The "Subscribe via Email" option, on the other hand, does not seem fully operational at the moment, however it could just be a glitch on my side. I'm sure if this isn't the case it'll be up and running before too long. The "Subscribe via Email" option is now working as well.

Adam's Playlist

Stumbled onto this by accident. Not sure how long he's had it up, but Adam's created a page on Playlist.com and linked it up on his Myspace page. At 65 tracks long, it contains artists Bauhaus, Judas Priest, Mozart, the Melvins and a good bit more. News worthy? Not so much. But hell I found it interesting.

MJK on Hard Drive, Adam with ISIS

Submitter AZB tells us MJK is appearing on Hard Drive this weekend. I've double checked it and confirmed that he is listed as a guest, however I can't seem to figure out if he's already done his interview or if it's still to come. Any help with that would be appreciated.

AZB also reminded me of Adam appearing on two songs for ISIS's new album "Wavering Radiant", due out May 5th. This was announced a little bit back but I don't remember if we've mentioned it here yet. Thanks to AZB for the tips!

Maynard on Wine Library TV

For those of you interested, Maynard was recently on Wine Library TV going over a few of his bottles. Honestly, I can't say a lot about it, as I haven't been deeply interested in Caduceus/Merkin Vineyards/etc. for a couple years now. I did, however, enjoy watching the 2-Part interview by Gary Vaynerchuck with MJK and Eric Glomski, if only for the sheer energy Vaynerchuck displays and a good, solid source of info on Maynards wine-background.

There are a few interesting, brief asides throughout the interviews that relate to Tool/etc., but not a lot we haven't heard before elsewhere. Still, if you haven't watched this and are interested in what it is Maynard's been doing with his grapes, give it a look. I found it rather interesting.
